What is a PTO?
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization, which is a volunteer-run group with a mission to make schools a better place for students to learn and grow.

We are a group of mothers, fathers, family members, teachers, staff, and administrators who work together to create fun events, purchase necessities for the school, and show appreciation to staff to help maintain high morale and job satisfaction that then trickles down to benefit the scholars on a daily basis. We work to make our scholars time at Rockhill the best that it can possibly be!
What does the RES PTO do?
The Rockhill Elementary PTO is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the students and staff of Rockhill Elementary School. Most parents know the PTO as the fundraising arm of the school – those people always asking for money – but we do a lot more than that. We host community events such as the Fall & Spring Festivals, Movie Nights, and Family Bingo. The PTO also organizes after-school programs for our students, as well as assemblies and other activities. These events help foster a fun, positive, and productive environment for the students and staff. The PTO also provides supplies, technology, and other items to help our scholars succeed and to help keep our staff prepared and morale high. With your help, we enhance the educational facilities for our children and provide additional opportunities and resources not provided for by the school’s budget.

Staff Appreciation
Every month the PTO sponsors a staff appreciation event so our amazing staff knows how much we love them! This helps maintain morale among the stuff and reminds them how appreciated they are, which benefits everyone - including our scholars. There are times when we request assistance in providing some of these events. In these cases, we will post a sign up link on our Facebook page and/or our website, as well as send the link via email.
Events
We provide events throughout the year - some free and others low-cost - including Family Bingo, Movie Nights, Fall & Spring Festivals, etc. We also provide other in-school "events" for the scholars throughout the year - such as Popsicle Day, Popcorn Day, etc.
Assemblies
We provide assemblies throughout the school year for the scholars. More to come on this.
Fundraising
To have all these amazing opportunities for the children, we do have to participate in fundraising. Last year we had our Rockhill Boosterthon, we participated in the Believe Fundraiser, we held our Holiday Shop with Polar Pals (which the scholars LOVED), we held many successful Spirit Nights, and more! We will also be starting the RES School Store up again soon! Watch for more information on these events coming home soon.
